Morning Circle
At HAPPY HORIZONS, every morning begins with a “Morning Circle” where all children and teachers gather. The children greet each other and the teachers with “Good Morning” to music.
The morning starts by asking the children, “What do you want to do today?” because at HAPPY HORIZONS, the children are the stars of the day.
9:30
Park Time
We go outside every day for outdoor play. There are many natural and spacious parks nearby, as well as playgrounds and temples that children can visit. We also take the school bus to parks like Komazawa Park, Rinshinomori Park, Tamagawa and Futako-Tamagawa.
10:30
Play Time
Through interactions with the teachers, “art play” is born. For example, if a child shares a story about visiting a mountain over the weekend, the teacher might ask, “What kind of trees were there?”
Even if children can’t express themselves with words, they are skilled at expressing through drawings, shapes, or objects. The “mountain trees” project begins as the children use various art materials like pencils, crayons, paints, and branches or leaves collected from the park.

Lesson Time
Lesson Time is designed by the teachers to integrate fun learning with the current Reggio-inspired projects. The goal is to make learning English or Japanese enjoyable!
In Gym, children focus on the three physical elements: throwing, running, and jumping. In Music, children play instruments together.
Monday: English
We focus on writing the alphabet (A, B, C) and simple English words.
Tuesday: Gym
We emphasize throwing, running, jumping, and balance.
Wednesday: Japanese
The focus is on learning hiragana and katakana, reading comprehension through picture books, understanding numbers 1-100, and basic math skills.
Thursday: Music
Children listen to music and move their bodies (dance), creating their own dance routines. In Reggio-inspired art activities, we lay the foundation for creativity and artistic expression.
Friday: Happy Friday
